Donations help make Helena bike friendly

On behalf of the Friends of Centennial Trail, I would like to congratulate our bike raffle winners and thank Big Sky Cyclery, Great Divide Cyclery, Helena Bicycle Club and other donors for helping us get one step closer to making Helena a better place for walking and cycling. We are working to raise grant matching funds to help complete the first phase of the Centennial Trail, which will serve as an east-west backbone to a proposed network walker-biker friendly paths. Centennial Trail will one day connect Spring Meadow Lake and the East Helena bike-pedestrian path and pass through the new Centennial Park. Much of this trail is already used but is not currently safe or accessible to all.

As a result of your generous donations, we have raised nearly $8,000 this year. But we still need another $14,000 to reach our initial goal to build a bike-pedestrian bridge to safely cross Henderson Street. To learn more about the proposed trail, review the master plan by going online to
