Heaven Ride/Skills Night

Monday evenings at 5:30pm.  Meeting place varies – check our Facebook page. This is a shorter, low tempo rides as daylight allows for an introductory to road riding with a group or a recovery spin from weekend racing. Rides are a no-drop road bike rides that feature great conversation, good ride leaders and the occasional BRBC stop after the ride.

Hell Ride

The Helena Hell Ride is an up-tempo competitive ride that leaves from Spring Meadow State Park parking lot every Tuesday evening at 6 PMsharp and takes a bit less than 2 hours. It’s a 31 mile loop that goes out Birdseye Road to Lincoln Road (State highway 200) and then back into Helena via Applegate, Norris and Greenmeadow. There are three sprint finish-lines along the route – the Birdseye Fire station hill top, the T with Anna Brown road (coming in from the left) just before Lincoln Road, and the top of the hill on Lincoln Road before dropping into the Helena valley. Riders re-group after the sprint finishes at the fire station, the junction with Lincoln Road and the Libation station parking lot at the junction of Lincoln and Applegate. We usually start out in a pace for the first mile or so and then practice a rotating paceline for another couple of miles before pushing up the tempo to “hard”. This ride usually goes from May through August and is cancelled only if the weather is unsafe (T-storms, extremely high winds).

Mountain Rides

The tradition continues! Helena’s oldest and most popular group mountain bike ride.  Meet at Great Divide Cyclery on Fridays at 5:45pm for a ride 1 ½ – 2 hours in length with emphasis on single-track and keeping the group together. This is a great way to hook up with other riders and familiarize yourself with Helena’s South Hills Trail System. Recommended for hardy beginners +.

  1. Anyone interested in riding an approx 83-mile loop route from Avon to Helmville to Drummond to Garrison to Avon on Sunday 6/21? Any time is good for me and I have room for extra people and bikes if carpooling is necessary.
